Ascent Trip Report

I orginally signed up for this hike with the 4 Seasons Hiking Group, but I ended up getting there an hour early so I hiked up alone. The trail was gentle in the beginning, but was difficult to follow at times due to the fallen leaves. There were a lot of yellow blazes though. The stream crosses were very easy. The trail became steeper, rockier, and more challenging half way up and for the rest of the way to the summit. The summit was marked by two cairns and did not have much of a view. I chose to take the Sosman Trail down and then walk down the Waterville Valley ski slopes. The view from the slopes was incredible, much better than the wooded summit of Mt. Tecumseh. However, walking down the slopes was much slower than skiing down.
