Ascent Trip Report

Parked car at Loch Leven Lakes Trailhead on Hampshire Rocks Road. Hiked back up road (southwest) a few hundred yards into the "Victory" Group Campsite behind the Forest Service Maintenance? Station, which was under construction. Continued past a locked gate under the freeway and northeast adjacent to the freeway. Continued northeast up the poor dirt road to turn northwest and up where the brush wasn't very thick. Worked our way around thickets of brush under the trees, following game trails (couldn't find the trail marked on the old maps) steeply uphill toward the peak, it getting much easier once it leveled out and we could follow the ridge to the top. Tried a more direct route going down but had to slide over a hundred yards of thick brush before getting to the poor dirt road under the power lines.
