Ascent Trip ReportWe left the Mt. Field summit and rushed to get to the base of the Tom Spur via the Willey Ridge -> A-Z trail. The concern was if we didn't get to Tom early enough we would need to skip it because of the early sunset. The Willey Ridge trail was extremely icey and led to a lot of tumbles in the scramble to get to the Tom Spur. We reached the Tom Spur at 3:30pm. Nora decided to continue down and Ann went with her carrying the backpacks. Shannon, Tom, and I scrambled up the Tom Spur to the summit. GPS battery was out for the ascent. On the way back down we played slap the trail marker. Managed the three brook crossings with Tom and Shannon doing a monkey bar shimy across a birch tree on one of them. Reached the base at 6:15pm about 15 minutes before the sun went down. Peak 5 of 48 attained.
