Ascent Trip Report

Backpacked in to Ediza Lake from Agnew Meadows and spent the night. Departed at 05:30 the next morning. Since it is such a dry year the only snow/ice we crossed was at the base of the southeast glacier for about 400 yards. Easy crossing without any aids except hiking poles. Ascended what we believe to be Owens Chute. Mostly steep class 2 talus scrambling with a couple of easy class three obstacles. On the summit by noon. No faster going down. Back at Ediza at 18:00, broke camp and back on the trail about 19:00 and back at Agnew Meadows trail head at midnight. We are not the fastest group but got it done and had a great trip. Spent the night in Mammoth and drove home the next day to LA area. Video view from the summit http://youtu.be/hRGwL--a7AQ
