Ascent of Wade Benchmark on 2012-09-24
|Date:||Monday, September 24, 2012|
|Ascent Type:||Successful Summit Attained|
| Elevation:||9367 ft / 2855 m|
Ascent Trip ReportA peak on the Tahoe-OGUL list. Hiked up the Horsethief Canyon trail using Pete Yamagata's old Northern Peaks Guidebook. Use trail north of the hairpin turn in the main trail/abandoned road is still there and takes you to the pass between Horsethief Canyon and Fredericksburg Canyon. From here, hiked through mostly forest to Wade benchmark. Nice view of the Carson Valley and Pine Nut Range. Another climber named Karl came crashing through brush soon after I got there. He's pursuing the Tahoe-OGUL list as well and is pretty far along. We hiked over Peak 9390 on the way back since this is the actual highpoint of the mountain.
