Ascent Trip ReportFrom Spectacle Lake, take the Pacific Crest Trail up the ridge to the south. The trail goes up the ridge via a series of switchbacks and tops out 1000' above, offering amazing views of Spectacle Lake as well as the Three Queens and all of Chikamin Ridge. There are several ideal camping spots at the top of the ridge, offering the best sunrise views of the lake and valley below. We continue a couple hundred feet down the opposite side of the ridge into the Park Lakes Basin, a relaxing spot for lunch. From the Park Lakes Basin, the PCT continues up over Chikamin Ridge and along the opposite side all the way past Lemah Peak. We didn't hike past the junction, but the PCT over Chikamin Ridge looks like an amazing hike. We turned around and went back to Spectacle Lake in the afternoon.
