Ascent Trip Report

Approached the high point via Elkwater on the Alberta side of the Cypress Hills Park. A series of gravel roads led across the unmarked provincial boundary and up to the side of a horse pasture. We hopped the barb wire fence and walked about 150 m to the GZ of the given coordinates. The pasture was quite flat here and so it was hard to note exactly where the uppermost feature was. Maybe a tuft of grass or a cow patty here or there. Anyway, stood on the "summit" and took a picture. Then walked back to the car. The route out through the Saskatchewan side up to Fort Walsh was much rougher and hillier, but beautiful. Needed to carefully follow the Google maps and the car GPS to get us out to the highway. Then back up to the highway at Maple Creek and on our way to Manitoba...
