Ascent Trip Report

Took the white dot trail up, white cross down. Very nice weather. Low humidity, cool and comfortable at the top. White dot is an extremely over used trail. At no point did you ever feel any form of solitude. You can hear people chattering and kids playing at all times through the woods. A lot of the rocks are even worn almost smooth from all the traffic, which makes areas quite slippery to get up. Summit was very crowded, but it's also large enough that you should have no problem finding a place by yourself. White cross seemed less traveled - or at least while we were on it. There were a few times that we were actually able to hear the forest over the people, although not many I must say. Excellent view from the top. There is a nice museum at the start of the trails which have some information about the history of the mountain. It was a nice exhibit.
