Ascent Trip Report

This was a Sierra Peaks Section trip led by Doug Mantle, Bob Hicks and Duane McRuer. On day one, we backpacked from South Fork campground up the South Fork of the Kaweah River to Cedar Creek and then up an old, abandoned and faded trail over the saddle located SSW of Cahoon Rock and then down to our camp at Cahoon Meadows; this old trail was shown on the 15 minute Mineral King topo map from 1956. On day two, the group day hiked west cross country over Peak 8837 and Homers Brow to Homers Nose. Afterwards, the group returned to camp and backpacked out to the trailhead. Trip stats include ascents of Peak 8827 and Homers Brow.
