Ascent Trip ReportI hiked Bald Crater from the viewpoint for Crater Lake on Hwy 230. This is the Boundary Springs Trail. A couple miles from the highway Boundary Springs is an impressive destination in itself. I think it is considered the origin of the Rogue River. It may also be on outlet for water from Crater Lake. Nice hike through the forest and then up a steep slope under a forest canopy to the summit of Bald Crater. Nice views from the summit.
