Ascent Trip ReportApproaching on the usual Class 2 route from the southeast, a steep snow field blocked our path just below the peak. Couldn't go around it on the right due to very steep sand/boulders and exposure. Couldn't go around it to the left due to exposure on rock. Would have been okay to go up it with an ice axe, but I left them behind since my wife and I hadn't trained with them for many years and I didn't expect much snow in mid-August.
terrible swarms of mosquitos until half way up
