Ascent Trip Report

I accessed Peak 6601 from Fourmile Lake. Fourmile Lake is signed on Hwy 140 and is about 6 miles north on a good gravel road. On the way to Fourmile Lake you will pass the turnoff for the Mt McLoughlin trailhead. When you reach Fourmile Lake go left, go around the loop and park at the Badger Lake Trailhead.

Hike the Badger Lake trail for about 2.5 miles, passing Squaw Lake, and meeting the PCT. Turn right (north) on the PCT and go another 1.5 miles to a fork. The PCT goes right at this point, I went left for about .5 mile and then left the trail and went cross country through the forest to the high point. There is no views from the high point because of the forest, but there are views along the way of Fourmile Lake and Mt McLoughlin. Nice hike.
