Ascent Trip Report

Going a short distance north from Brockway Summit on CA 267, turn right on the first paved road—unmarked as far as I can recall. After 3.2 miles of paved road, turn right on a fairly good dirt road--the paved road bends left and continues up for another mile or so where a dirt road goes uphill to the right, probably to Martis Peak. Park at a pullout on the right a hundred yards up the dirt road--just past a large open space on the right--where my GPS finally found enough satellites to get a fix. The TRT is accessible on the right and parallels the dirt road for a quarter mile before joining it. Walk down the road/TRT (could probably drive a 2x2 vehicle down it) for 0.6 mi to another small parking area where the TRT again becomes a trail (off to the right). Follow it to a 4x4 dirt road (going left), follow the road for 0.2 mi, and then continue on the TRT-trail going left. Walk another mile to the high point--probably one of the two rock-outcrops overlooking Lake Tahoe, but it could possibly also be a point on the higher ridge of rocks to the east, though’ that’s most likely in Nevada.
