Ascent Trip ReportI arrived at Sunrise around 8:30 Friday morning July 6, 2012. There was snow down to the lodge and snow on and off until Frozen Lake. The “ice axe” sign was up as the trail started toward the first Burroughs, it was a good idea and this area is usually covered with snow well into the summer. The snow was off of the first Burroughs but as I ascended to the second Burroughs, there was snow on the trail. The top of second Burroughs was clear and the trail down to the base of the third Burroughs was partially covered. The ascent to the third Burroughs was all in snow. I only saw about 4 others on the trail until I got back to Frozen Lake where I ran into a couple of small groups.
