Ascent Trip ReportGreat Hike! Daniel and I did the Loop going to the summit then down to Black Mountain pond / Lapland pond. Kind of hazy at the summit, around 11 a.m. great view of Lake George but distant mountains could not be seen. Once down at the Pond areas, the sky cleared. Too bad we didn't delay leaving home by a couple of hours. The Summit views of the distant ADK High Peaks and the Green Mountains of Vermont would have been fantastic! Super camping areas at the Lean-Tos at Black and Lapland Ponds. Will be back there some time for an overnight !!!
