Ascent Trip ReportThis was quite an adventure! The trails were well packed until Zeta Pass, and it was a good thing, because the fun started after that, with high winds, low temperatures, and hiking in the treetops. Everything was extra coated with ice from the previous day's storm. It sounded like glass in the wind, and breaking glass as we maneuvered through the deep snow trail that had us hiking in the treetops. This itinerary in the summer is a moderate hike, and a fairly easy "4000 ft hike". In winter- definitely advanced and only for strong hikers. Personally, it was more hike than I bargained for, and I'm so thankful to have such great hiking companions to keep me moving when I got too tired."
