Ascent of Mount Washington on 2012-06-16| Date: | Saturday, June 16, 2012 | | Ascent Type: | Successful Summit Attained | | Peak: | Mount Washington | | Location: | USA-New Hampshire | | Elevation: | 6288 ft / 1916 m |
Ascent Trip ReportWe had a beautiful morning with clouds rolling in during the early afternoon. An incredible experience across a fantastic ridge. Made one mistake coming off of Mt. Adams, started down the Lowes Path, but before we figured it out we did visit Mt. Adams 4. If the peak was named and within 100 meters or so of the path, we made the extra effort to summit the peak. All in all we visited 8 ranked peaks and 6 sub-peaks. It was quite an experience with some of the greatest views from John Quincy Adams and the very quiet Mt. Clay summit. Mt. Jefferson was just covered with hikers and Mt. Washington was a complete zoo. We had to wait in a line to take a summit picture!

The summit is now in and out of the clouds. The place is crazy packed with hikers, bikers, trolley people, and people who have driven. A lunch of chili dogs tastes great. We are here for about and hour including the time we stand in line to take a picture at the summit sign!
