Ascent Trip Report

I approached Peak 4004 from I-5. I took exit 71 for Sunny Valley and went east about 0.4 miles to the covered bridge. After crossing the bridge, zero your odometer and turn right onto Placer Road. At 4.2 miles turn right onto BLM 34-5-9, at 7.6 miles take the right fork onto BLM 34-5-15, at 8.5 miles go straight at the ridgeline, at 8.7 miles go straight, at 9.9 miles take the right fork, and at 10.3 miles reach the end of the road and park. I hiked through the brushy lower mountain up to where it had been thinned. It was kind of nice on the summit ridge with large second growth keeping it shady. No views. High point appeared to be at a funny looking stump.
