Ascent Trip ReportThis was the fourth day of climbing peaks in central Nevada that were over 10K high. We car camped near the mouth of the Exchequer Canyon and got an early start since high winds were predicted for the upper reaches of the mountain. Summitpost member Victor Zhou had put up a nice summitpost page for Cherry Creek BM and had posted a route that looked promising to us that would protect us from the high winds.(Be sure to check out the resource he has provided). It led up Exchequer canyon and was really an interesting route which involved bushwhacking, fighting off mosquitoes near the spring and passing a couple of ruins of places where miners had lived. Look for a GPS track by Ken Jones in the near future. We had a 3000 foot gain from where we had to park (the road is blocked by a big rock about a mile in from the gate. Park just before the rock on the left side of the road.
