Ascent Trip Report

Great after work ascent of a surprisingly frequently climbed peak. Last ascent was barely a week ago! I rode my mountain bike from pavement to 4,000 ft elevation where I cut due east towards the peak. I encountered a rattlesnake not too long after I ditched the bike. I think we startled each other. I took a nice canyon that was a lot of fun and led to a plateau just below the summit. After topping out and returning to the bike, I put in the 500 vertical feet back up to the car on the mountain bike. On the way up and back I found a total of 5 mylar balloons and I only covered a small fraction of the desert. One of the balloons said "It's a Boy!" Congrats mother & father, you have left the planet worse for your brand new son. Go figure....
