Ascent Trip Report

Third peak on my quest to get all 50 highest points in each of the 50 states. Parked and started the 0.6 mile climb. It costs $3 to park per adult. The trail is paved the entire way. The peak is covered with visitor center and look out tower. We made it up just in time to see the valleys covered in cottony clouds, with the green peaks of the lower end of the Appalachian mountains parting the clouds. We went in and watched a film and came out to be surrounded in clouds. There were rhododendrons in bloom and the drive to Brasstown Bald from Atalanta was beautiful. During high visitor traffic it appears there may be a shuttle to the top of the peak.
