Ascent Trip Report

I used the Michael Schwartz Trip Report to access Lyon Mountain. I started up the trail and completely missed the sign-in kiosk that takes you up the "new" trail. I followed the red disks and climbed up the "old" trail. It is not a bad trail, steep in places but very direct in going to the summit. Coming down I found the "new" trail. The "new" trail is not in great shape it is boggy in spots and it wanders all over the mountain adding about 1.5 miles each way to the hike. I liked the "old" trail better.
