|Date:||Wednesday, May 2, 2012|
|Ascent Type:||Successful Summit Attained|
| Elevation:||5168 ft / 1575 m|
Ascent Trip ReportAfter hours scramble led my Robert. Also on the trip were Mark, Tom, Sean, Ken, and Monty. We started from Alpental parking lot at about 5:30pm, summited a couple hours later, and back at the cars around 8:45pm. Route was in great condition (cohesive, wet snow perfect for kicking steps and plunge-stepping), weather very cooperative, great views of all surrounding peaks including Highbox, Lundin, Tooth, Denny, Silver, Tinkham, etc. A very enjoyable evening scramble with a good group.
PS. There is a great camping spot (at least while there's snow on the ground) near the top -- would be good for a SIG overnight snow trip. Only potential shortcoming is whether there is a good spot to practice team arrest
