Ascent Trip Report

Started at the Tiger Summit TH on Hwy 18. Snow was thinner, wetter, and more consolidated than last week. Decided to leave the snowshoes in the car and that turned out to be the right choice; last week I wore them the entire time. Walked the road west for 2 miles with minor ups and downs. Turn L at gate onto road going S. Immediate fork and go right on the uphill. After reaching a saddle I hit a trail going S that was not on my map. I took this, and took the left uphill fork when presented with it. Not knowing where this went, I ditched it and headed cross country to the N summit of South Tiger. Then headed S to the South summit of Tiger where a register was found. It is unclear which is higher. From here I followed a trail down which turned out to be a spur from the trail I had been on. Stopped at the Carole Hapke (?) picnic area on the way back which was the closest thing to views that I had on this winter day.
