Ascent Trip ReportChris, Kali and I had plans to tackle the Northern Presi's after high winds cancelled our presi traverse. Once we heard the weather and most importantly the wind speeds expected for Sunday, we changed to a favorite of mine, the Cats/Carters Traverse. Chris never being one to do a straightforward hike, i am learning, talked me into adding Mt Hight and North Carter. Why visit 8 peaks when you can visit 10 for little extra effort. It makes the story that much better. We used the camp dodge cutoff and did about 16 miles, 5900 feet and 10 peaks. It was pretty windy, though depending on where we were in our travels, we got more or less wind. We visited the hut in Carter Notch and were treated to the most wind of the day! Mt Hight which we both expected to be super windy, was almost pleasant and we found a spot on the east side to have lunch. Great day out and beside some ankle pain caused by my boot and some wimd it was perfect.
