Ascent of Mount Saint Helens on 2007-08-01Date: | Wednesday, August 1, 2007 | Ascent Type: | Successful Summit Attained | Peak: | Mount Saint Helens | Location: | USA-Washington | Elevation: | 8333 ft / 2539 m |
Ascent Trip ReportStarted at the Climbers Bivuac trail head on a well maintained trail through alpine forest to the timber line for approximately two miles. The boulder scramble starts immediately after leaving the timber line for a little under one and a half miles. After the boulder field the remaining climb is in loose gravel and ash. I took about 10 hours for the entire round trip. Mt Adams was in my sight to the east all day, and the view of Mt Ranier at the summit was fantastic!
