Ascent Trip ReportThe mountain is located on BLM land in the Coso Range Wilderness. The area is open to non-motorized travel and no permits are required.
To reach the mountain from the west turn off of highway 395 on Cactus Flat Road which is opposite the BLM Olancha Fire Station on the south side of the small town. Follow this road which is paved for the first 1.4 miles then turns to good graded dirt. At 2.9 miles pass the Haiwee Reservoir and climb a hill. Then at 4.35 miles go right at a junction and go left at another junction at 5.4 miles. After 6.85 miles turn left on a poorer road and go about 0.2 miles and park. The wilderness boundary is about here, but it is not marked. The peak is about a 4 mile hike to the east from here.
