Follow this road up into Yaqui Wash for about 0.7 miles and park where convenient. UTM here is 225700E, 3685400N (NAD27). Begin the hike heading ESE for about 3/4 mile and then turn east up the canyon on the south side of Kofa Butte. Turn south up a side canyon and climb up to the ridge just east of point 2848 ft. shown on the map. Turn east along the ridge past a 50 ft. conglomerate rock pillar and then head south up the slopes to the summit and the benchmark. The round-trip distance is about 4 miles with an elevation gain of 1100 ft. The ascent takes about 2 1/4 hours and allow 2 hours to return. 1/96 RLC
