Ascent Trip Report

I followed Scott Surgent's excellent Trip Report from Summit Post. I parked at the windmill and corral at the mouth of the canyon. Dean can drive his Tacoma further in to the last windmill. I didn't think the road was any worse than the approach road. It took me an hour to drive in to where I stopped.

I hiked up the canyon and then battled the brush in places. I did receive a few cactus bites, but nothing serious. There is a little scrambling going up the slope to the south ridge and again going up the summit block. I don't really think it was Class 3, just scrambling in a few places. I did go east when I got near the summit block almost all the way to the saddle and then climbed up the steep slope to the summit. Great views.
