Ascent Trip Report

Stayed the night at a hotel in Carlsbad, NM. Got up and drove to Guadalupe National Park. It was a beautiful clear day with good weather for February. Started up the trail at 9:50am and reached the summit 2hrs later. There was a little ice/snow on the trail in places on the north side of the peak, otherwise a pleasant and beautiful hike. The summit was very windy and a little chilly. We stopped only long enough to take a couple pictures and sign the summit registry. We did stop for 15 minutes on the way down, however, to eat some lunch. We arrived back to the car at 1:30pm.
