To reach the trailhead exit I-15 at Sierra Ave. near Rancho Cucamonga and drive north on Lytle Creek Road for 1.5 miles. At this point turn left onto Forest Road 1N34, a dirt road heading up the mountain. This road is open only in the fall and winter months and requires a high-clearance vehicle up to the turnoff for the microwave site at 7.7 miles and four-wheel drive beyond. Continue until at a point about 9.9 miles from the start where the road bends to the right at a flat area on the ridge and a wide trail going up the hill on your left can be seen. UTM here is: 450840E, 3785680N in zone 11. Park here and hike west up the hill and then northwest on this trail for about 1/2 mile to the top of the mountain. There is a track to the right through the brush to the highest point which has a register. The hike is about one mile round-trip with a gain of 400 feet. 10/99 RLC
