Ascent Trip ReportMt. Mallory can be climbed from Meysan Lake which is easily reached via the Meysan Lakes trail from Whitney Portal. The trailhead is amongst summer cabins, 11.3 miles west of Lone Pine on the Whitney Portal road. From the Meysan Lake head south and then SE up the slope to the broad, nearly flat ridge between Mt. Mallory and Mt. LeConte. From here the SE slope offers an easy route to the summit. There is some scrambling over boulders at the very top to reach the register. The ascent of Mt. Mallory can be combined with a climb of Mt. LeConte which is 0.75 miles SE, or Mt. Irvine which is 0.5 miles north. The elevation on the 15 minute map is shown as 13,850 ft.
