Ascent Trip ReportI approached Green Mountain from Hwy 126 west of Vaneta. There is a turn off for the town of Noti at about milepost 41. Go into Noti and turn right at the store on to Vaughn Road and zero your odometer. Follow this road towards Vaughn, crossing over the railroad tracks twice. The second time is about 3.2 miles from Noti. Immediately after crossing the railroad tracks the second time, turn left, cross a couple more railroad tracks, and then stop in the wide area in front of the locked gate.
I hiked up the road and reached a saddle at 1,480 ft where I took the left fork into the forest towards the summit. When you get to the next fork, go left and then in about 200 ft go right on a lesser road. This road has blow down and deteriorates as you approach the summit. The summit is covered with mossy trees and sword ferns. No views, but it is kind of pretty for a coastal rain forest.
