Ascent Trip Reportcounter-clockwise loop from Falling Waters Trail; over Haystack, Lincoln, and Lafayette. Started at 7am. Cascades were beautiful! We took our time to the summit of Haystack, arriving at 11:14. Had lunch, bundled up, and hiked the ridge over to Lincoln and then Lafayette. Descending from Lafayette was brutal; as soon as we did the up and over a strong wind (70mph sustained) kicked up. It took us well over an hour to reach treeline. The trip down Old Bridle Path was muddy and slippery. We slowly picked our way down and made it back to the trailhead parking lot just after dark at 4:30pm.
