Ascent Trip Report

We started at the snow park because the road to the climbers route had too much snow. We used snow shoes at about the first mile. The snow was very stable. At about half way we decided it might be easier to climb the rocks instead of snow shoeing. It got icy about a mile from the summit so we decided to use the snow shoes for traction. Got to the summit around 4:45. Our entire decent was in the dark. Had a hard time finding our tracks back and ended up using the gps on my iphone to find the trail back. We expected to have a 70% chance of snow, but it turned out to be mostly sunny. It was beautiful with all the snow. It was a great trip. It just took longer than we expected.
