Ascent Trip ReportGorgeous day on the Northern Presis! Blue skies and sun and fabulous views. The day after our freak October snowstorm - 6 inches wet snow down low, 18 inches of powdery stuff up high. Snow drifts, slippery snow on hte rocks made for slow going, so abandoned plans for Adams. Saw the moose who lives at Madison hut. She was very comfortable and curious. A really beauty. She followed us on the trail a little ways. Spent a long time on the summit taking in the views... Had an "interesting" time getting through the deep drifts between the rocks on the steep climb without snow shoes, but we made it. A really great day!
