Ascent Trip ReportHighpointing can be so difficult. What is the highest point in Nottinghamshire? Local council signs suggest (separately) that it is both Silverhill and Strawberry Bank (Woodland Avenue). However, the former is a man-made landscaped colliery spoil heap and both places are lower (albeit by only a metre or so) than the natural high point that is in the field next to Newtonwood Lane. In any case they are all within a few kilometres of each other and I visited all 3 the same day and obtained varied views over the locality.
