Ascent Trip ReportWe stayed at Barnes Field Campground the night before with Leo. I was very comfortaable sleeping in my two sleeping bags and warmers in my socks. It was very cold, the temperture was 11 degrees F at the summit. The trails were icy and snowy. I used my stabilicers almost the whole way up and down. The ascent begins with a steep section and then levels off a bit and then you climb the rest of the way. My calves were very tight from the day before for some reason and I was a little sluggish thus had to take frequent breaks. By the end of the hike my legs were hurting and I couldn't wait to put on my "ballerina" slippers.
This was my 30th NH 4000 footer!!
