Ascent of Green Mountain on 2011-10-16
|Date:||Sunday, October 16, 2011|
|Ascent Type:||Successful Summit Attained|
| Elevation:||2833 ft / 863 m|
Ascent Trip ReportGreen Mountain can be accessed from the town of Nashville south of the peak. Take the Logsden Road northwest until you get to the signed Green Mountain Road. I don't have mileages, but continue up this good road until you are just south of the peak at a point tagged 2083 on the topo. This isn't a good road and it gets worse the further you go until it is bermed on the northwest end of the peak. I found a place to park on the west ridge at the top of a little drainage where there is a little overgrown abandoned roadbed going south. I hiked up the slope under a nice forest canopy until I was near the summit. There the slope was kind of brushy until I broke out onto a nice road along the summit ridge. I don't know where this road comes from but it probably originates to the north in the vast logging area in that direction. The high point is above the road in the brush and trees.
There are some views from near the summit.
