Ascent Trip Report

I approached Diamond Peak from the road that parallels the Siletz River on the west side of the peak. I found the gate open, but it was posted as a Travel Management Area with controlled access for motor vehicles during hunting season. Since I was not hunting, and the gate was open I drove up, stayed left at all intersections and found myself at the top of a clearcut on the west ridge of Diamond Peak. It was an easy climb up through a nicely timbered slope to the summit. No views because of the trees.
