Ascent of Diamond Peak on 2011-10-15
|Date:||Saturday, October 15, 2011|
|Ascent Type:||Successful Summit Attained|
| Elevation:||2440 ft / 743 m|
Ascent Trip ReportI approached Diamond Peak from the road that parallels the Siletz River on the west side of the peak. I found the gate open, but it was posted as a Travel Management Area with controlled access for motor vehicles during hunting season. Since I was not hunting, and the gate was open I drove up, stayed left at all intersections and found myself at the top of a clearcut on the west ridge of Diamond Peak. It was an easy climb up through a nicely timbered slope to the summit. No views because of the trees.
