Ascent Trip ReportI approached Coglan Buttes from the town of Paisley. At the Paisley Ranger Station zero your odometer and head north on Hwy 31. At 1.1 miles turn right on Red House Lane, at 4.1 miles pass a large cattle feed lot on the right, at 5.1 miles the pavement ends and take a left turn. At 8.1 miles enter a canyon, at 11.3 miles take the right fork, at 12.3 miles go straight on FR 6124, at 14.0 miles turn right, at 15.2 miles pass through an open barb wire gate and then the road gets rough and rocky where good tires and high clearance are necessary. At 20.0 miles turn right, at 21.4 miles go through an open gate and the road is little more than an ATV track at this point. I continued to 21.7 miles and parked. The ATV track ended a short distance above where I parked. I probably should have parked at the saddle at 21.4 miles. Nice views.
