Ascent Trip ReportThere a couple of wasy to access Twin Lakes Mtn. One is a shorter drive and longer hike. I chose the longer drive and shorter hike. From hwy 138 turn south at the Apple Creek Campground onto FR 4714, zero your odometer, and cross the river. At 0.3 mile take the left fork onto FR 4720, at 1.0 go left, at 11.4 go left, 12.9 pass a small pond on your left, and at 13.0 turn left onto FR 4715. At 13.7 turn right onto FR 2715, at 15.7 go straight, and at 17.3 turn left onto FR 530 with a sign for Twin lakes Trailhead 5 miles. At 19.5 go straight, and at 21.9 reach the end of the road where there is an outhouse and the trailhead for Twin Lakes. Park here at about 5,700 ft elevation.
I hiked down the trail about 50 ft and then turned right to climb the slope. The slope all the way to the summit is mostly grass covered through the forest without any views. I just kept going uphill kind of back to my right from the parking area until there was no more uphill. There are some old footings at the summit from an old fire lookout.
