Ascent Trip ReportLarch Mountain was the second stop on my circular, soggy, rainy, foggy, cloudy Grand Tour of the Capitol State Forest.
I used Craig Willis's excellent directions from his summitpost page. I parked at the side of 4000, where the gated 4400 heads uphill. I followed the radio facility road until a faint unused road headed to the left. It petered out and I walked through logging debris before picking it back up again at the beginning of the wooded final hill climb. There was a bit of blowdown. Once reaching the end of the "road" I headed into the thin forest and walked around a bit before finding two witness markers and finally the benchmark.
With the ceiling at about 1000', if views are to be had, I'm the wrong person to ask.
A Discover Pass is required for travel within the Capitol State Forest.
