Ascent Trip Report

One day trip with Noel and his friend Chris, left the Stuart/Colchuck Lake Trail head at 5:10am after a car camp at Upper Johnny Creek CG. Made it to the base of Aasgard pass by 7:30am, about the first hour via headlamp. Took us an hour to get up Aasgard, much colder then I thought it would be up in the basin, all the small pools of water were frozen over, and the rocks next to the stream high on the pass were icy, big change considering temperatures in the 90s last weekend. We took a break to eat some food and then headed towards the snow slope Southeast of the Dragontail summit, put on crampons at the base of hard snow and headed for the top. Made the summit around 10am, #12 on the Bulger list for me. After a short time on top the clouds rolled in and we headed for Little Annapurna.
