Ascent Trip ReportStarted at Ammonoosuc Ravine trailhead at 10 after spotting a car at Edmands Path Trailhead on Mt. Clinton Road. Ascended to Lake of the Clouds Hut via the Ammonoosuc Ravine Trail. After checking out the Lake of the Clouds Hut (for the first time) and having lunch, refilling water and taking some photos, headed off to the summit of Mt. Monroe via the Mt. Monroe Loop. Summited Mt. Monroe descending towards the southwest via the Crawford Path ascending Mt. Franklin and then continuing on to Mt. Eisenhower. After summiting Mt. Eisenhower, returned to junction of Crawford Path and Edmand's Path before descending to Edmand's Path trailhead on Mt. Clinton Road at 5pm.
Trails appeared to be in good shape, but can easily see that they'd be dangerous on the Ammonoosuc Ravine Trail and Edmand's Path in precipitation. Weather was cool and some light rain passed through while traveling on the Crawford Path between Mt. Franklin and Mt. Eisenhower. Temps seemed to be around 60's at trailheads and in the 40's at elevation. Strong winds possibly in the 30-40mph was experienced on the Crawford Path.
I learned from this trip that the rain/wind jacket I bought worked great. I also learned that I should be carrying some long underwear and some non-cotton long sleeve shirts. I didn't have any issues, but could see that it could become an issue. Learn something on every trip!
