|Ascent Type:||Successful Summit Attained|
| Elevation:||2220 ft / 676 m|
Ascent Trip ReportDecided to try this peak from the logging road WSW of the summit, and it worked out wonderfully. This should now be the preferred route to the peak.
Paid $10 per person at 6 Mile checkpoint for access to the logging company's land and roads. Drove to Jack Mountain Road and easily found the road that branches off to the right just after passing the peak and followed it 0.7 miles clockwise around the base of the mountain to the freshly re-graded road that climbs the western drainage of Peaked Mtn. We didn't have 4WD so we parked at the base of this road and jogged the 0.7 miles up to the log yard at the end in 9 minutes. From there, a good skid road takes you another 1/4 mile closer to the summit, and at a split in the road we bushwhacked straight into open hardwoods and climbed until we hit the band of spruce that circles the summit. There were some useable moose trails in this area and we found the summit and it's freshly unearthed benchmark pretty quickly. Total ascent from the car was 32 minutes, and only 19 minutes of that was bushwhacking. Spent a few minutes on top, then retraced our steps, making it back to the car in 1:10 total.
