Ascent Trip ReportOnly age 13 & climbed this with my Dad, Jim Stiegler, & two team mates from my Select Soccer Team, Brody Shelby & David DeFea with David's stepfather.
I remember that there's a 3-4 mile hike up to at least the treeline, a hike on top of the ridgeline, & then there's a point called 'Chicken Point', where some didn't go past because you actually had to climb to get to the summit. David didn't climb any farther after that, nor did his stepfather. My father had brought a rope & just for good measure we used it past this point, even though you didn't really need it.
And despite the sheer cliff on all sides, Brody, my Dad, & myself all summitted, wrote our names in the registry on top & saw the lightning strikes that had melted the rock.
