Ascent Trip ReportEva and I flew in from Hawaii. Pontus and Rebecka from Stockholm. The Harmons and Doneys and other of Daryls friends from New England. Ailen and Phil from Indiana.
In total 14 climbers started out in the dark at 5:10 am from North Elbert trailhead. 13 climbers were aiding Daryl on his 50th state highpoint. At about 9:20, the scouters waited below the summit and we all had Daryl to lead us to the top. 50 State Highpoints completed.
Once again, strong emotional feelings, hugs, and tears. We made a three completers call to John Mitchler of the Highpoint Club. And a celebrating call to Maryanne that was waiting in Leadville.
Steak and beer for dinner! Well prime rib.
