Ascent of Mount Garfield on 2011-06-05| Date: | Sunday, June 5, 2011 | | Ascent Type: | Successful Summit Attained | | Peak: | Mount Garfield | | Location: | USA-New Hampshire | | Elevation: | 4480 ft / 1365 m |
Ascent Trip ReportGarfield Ridge trail from Galehead Hut reminded me of the Cannonballs, except not so strenuous. The rocky climb at the end up Gartfield was slow going. Views from Garfield were spectacular.
Garfield Trail is a beautiful route, nice grades. Saw some white and pink orchids along the way.
Biting flies were annoying.
With hindsight, doing this route in reverse may have been better.
