|Date:||Friday, June 3, 2011|
|Ascent Type:||Successful Summit Attained|
|Peak:||Adobe Range High Point|
| Elevation:||8135 ft / 2479 m|
Ascent Trip ReportI approached Adobe Range HP from I-80 exit 314 at Coal Canyon Rd. Zero your odometer and north. At 1.3 miles the pavement ends, at 8.7 miles turn left, at 12.2 miles take the right fork onto a lesser road, at 15.0 turn left onto a lesser road, cross the creek and climb the steep hill (I used 4WD), at 17.4 miles reach the ridgeline and turn left. At 17.7 miles park at elevation 7,220.
I hiked along the northwest side of the first high point along the ridge to the saddle before the summit. Then I climbed directly up the ridgeline for a ways before switching over to the south east side of the ridge to bypass the false summit. There is a nice grassy ramp up to the summit area from that side. Great views from this seldom visited summit.
